Scott Thomas has revealed that his gambling addiction became so bad he was banned from every casino in Manchester.
Opening up about his addiction, the Love Islander confessed his brother Ryan was forced to intervene to ensure he wouldn't be allowed to enter local casinos.
Scott, 35, revealed he was left 'fuming' after Ryan, who was starring on Coronation Street at the time, used his fame to get his younger brother barred.
Due to his high profile in Manchester, the soap actor knew the managers of the casinos and told them not to let Scott in.
Speaking to The Sun he revealed: 'I was fuming. I didn't want to go there to gamble but I couldn't go there with mates after nights out.

'But again, it was the right decision, he did what's best for me, and sometimes you need a bit of tough love.'
While Scott has now recovered from his addiction, it wasn't an easy road after the star was first tempted into the world of gambling when he was a history student at the University of Manchester.
He revealed how he would go with his friends to casinos in the early hours of the morning and it wasn't long before the podcaster was hooked.
The entrepreneur recalled how one night he turned £20 into £1,000 on the roulette table and something shifted within him and he gained an intense desire to keep winning.
Over a six month period things went from bad to worse as the star began to waste away his student loan on night's at the roulette table and morning's spent at the bookies.
Scott candidly revealed he would wake up and head to the betting shop before it had even opened while he waited for a chance to make back what he'd lost.
He said: 'It got to the point where it consumed my whole entire life. I was borrowing money off my student friends. I was borrowing money off family. They didn't know what I was borrowing for.'
He explained that due to his straight A grades in school his family didn't question why he needed the money and didn't suspect the root cause.
Hard times: 'But again, it was the right decision, he did what's best for me, and sometimes you need a bit of tough love,' said Scott

As the thoughts of gambling consumed him and led to him lying to the people he loved, he revealed he reached the point where he couldn't bare the strain and stress of his addiction any longer.
Looking back the star said that the best thing he ever did was seek help from the people around him.
Eventually Scott opened up to Ryan about his addiction problem and felt a huge wave of relief as he no longer had to hide it.
Scott has also been incredibly open about his journey to sobriety after the television personality made a decision at the end of 2019 to go completely sober.
He wrote in an Instagram back in June 2020: 'For years I've always battled with my relationship to alcohol. I made a living out of being a party boy and although I didn't drink often when I did I would always take it too far and become a different person.
'I've battled with this for years and although I've not had a bad life at all and always done 'well' so to speak there was always an underlying feeling of not reaching my potential.
'I saw a therapist for years over this called Gareth who was a massive help in giving me perspective and I still check in with him once a month even now.'
